  • Use correctly rated cables, breakers and protective devices.
02 / WARNING SIGNS

Respond to faults early

  • Stop using outlets that spark, smell burnt or become unusually hot.
  • If safe, isolate power at the breaker; do not touch damaged equipment.
  • Do not repeatedly reset a breaker that keeps tripping.
  • Arrange assessment by a qualified electrician.
03 / SOLAR PANELS

Keep solar systems safe

  • Use appropriately rated DC isolators, fuses and cables.
  • Keep panels and equipment mounted securely.
  • Do not disconnect live solar connectors under load.

  • Keep electrical equipment away from leaks and standing water.
  • Use enclosures and fittings rated for their environment.
  • After flooding or water damage, do not re-energize equipment until it is inspected.

06 / FIRE RESPONSE

If there is smoke or fire

  • Warn others and leave the danger area.
